Why a Sex Robot?
I
n the Wes Penre Papers—The Multiverse Series (WPP), I
wrote that in the near future, people will take robots as lovers and
spouses. I could see the writing on the wall, but I couldn’t image that
what I wrote would come into fruition so soon. The day I was writing about
this was a year to a year and a half ago and is now already happening. In
this chapter, I will prove to you what is going on. It’s all over mainstream
media, although it seems as if most people are still missing most of it.
An important part in this process is Google’s recently approved
patent 304 where you can download a robot’s personality from a cloud. This
way you can choose any personality you want for our robot friend, your
robot lover, or your robot spouse. You will then be able to customize your
robot so that it will respond the way that you want it to in more or less any
given situation.
"The robot personality may also be modifiable within a base personality
construct (i.e., a default-persona) to provide states or moods representing
transitory conditions of happiness, fear, surprise, perplexion (e.g., the
Woody Allen robot), thoughtfulness, derision (e.g., the Rodney Dangerfield
robot), and so forth," states the patent. 305
Also, if your robot would perish, you would still be able to save its
personality and use it for the next robot, if we wish. I can imagine that when
people get really used to these things, they would mourn the perished robot
