initiative comes to King<br />

Mike Webb and his wife<br />

Klara have started up a<br />

Bootcamp Functional Fitness<br />

Training facility at the Daleview<br />

Equestrian Academy.<br />

The aim of the bootcamp is<br />

to get people OUTSIDE<br />

while getting fit and having<br />

fun at the same time.<br />

The sessions run every Monday<br />

and Tuesday evening at<br />

5.30 pm for an hour and cost<br />

a measly R20 .<br />

Basic aerobics, a bit of trail<br />

running and various obstacles<br />

using tyres, poles etc<br />

are used at every session in<br />

order to tone and shape the<br />

body .<br />

'Everybody is encouraged to<br />

work at their own rate (but<br />

pushed ever so slightly) in<br />

order to make it accessible<br />

to all fitness levels and ages,'<br />

said Mike.<br />

All ages from 10 years old are<br />

welcome to attend.<br />

'On Tuesday nights pony<br />

rides will be offered at R10<br />

each for the kiddies in order<br />

to allow the parents to enjoy<br />

their workout at the same<br />

time,' said Mike.<br />

New sessions will be added<br />

dependant on numbers.<br />

Mike, who has a passion for<br />

the King Community and<br />

fitness stated that he would<br />

like to develop the camp and<br />

build permanent structures<br />

similar to the old Trim Park<br />

idea from the 1980's era.<br />

'The public would then be<br />

encouraged to use the facility<br />

for a small fee on a “honesty<br />

box “system,' said Mike.<br />

As Mike said after the first<br />

session on Monday 'the most<br />

important person here is the<br />

person who is least fit and<br />

we will ALL work together as<br />

a team to enhance<br />

everyone’s abilities and fitness<br />

levels.'<br />

Mike and Klara are also<br />

planning on opening up more<br />

trails for trail running and<br />

mountain Biking .<br />

'A WARRIOR race is also in<br />

the planning for the future,'<br />

said Mike.<br />
