CHANTERS Greg Lewis, PP Ok…what just happened? Where did 2016 go? It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating the end of 2015 and here it is 2017! It is true, the older we get the faster the years go by. Although the Chanters did not have our Afternoon of Music last year….well hold on tight because it’s BAAAAACK in 2017!! That’s right. We’re planning and rehearsing and we will be ready for the “Salute to the Legends of Music” at our 25th Afternoon of Music on Sunday, April 9th at Kutztown High School Auditorium. Let me assure you we have been working very hard on putting together the best show possible and we will be ready to entertain and you can expect this to be the best show EVER!!! Tickets will be available very soon, so mark the date and get ready to be entertained!!!! As we begin a new year, we are also looking back on the fine leadership that got us through last year and would like to thank immediate past President Les Werley and Lady Jane and we look forward to having them stick around for many more years. That means that our new President is Ill. Sir Ed Engle, PP. After taking a year off to serve as Potentate in 2013, Ill. Sir Ed stepped into line and has progressed to be our President this year. He and Lady Fern have made some special plans for this year and we wish them lots of luck as he takes up the mantel of leadership for the Rajah Chanters. Other officers elected to serve include: Bryan Hartman, First Vice President; Dave Erb, Second Vice President; Donald Miller, Treasurer; Shel Rissinger, Secretary and Dave DeTurk has been appointed Unit Director. As members of Rajah Chanters, we also owe a debt of gratitude to Nobles Bruce Rohrbach and Bryan Hartman for their musical leadership. These Nobles continue to keep us on the right musical track and as a unit we are very appreciate of all of their hard work on behalf of our efforts. Also a tip of the Fez to our Unit Director, Dave DeTurk for keeping us in line and informed of all of our commitments and duties. A special thank you to Bruce, Bryan, and Dave. We were fortunate to use our talents to perform many times throughout last year and are grateful for the following we have from our ladies and the members of Rajah and their ladies, but most especially we were thankful for the support of our Potentate in 2016, the Ill. Sir Larry Bortz for his attendance at many of our performances and at our meetings and, most enthusiastic of all, his Lady Barbara. Thanks to both of you for showing us how we can all support each other. So out with the old and in with the new, as we welcome and say “Good Luck” to Ill. Sir Dave Evans and his Lady Sarah for a most successful 2017.
