PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to subsection
318 of The Municipal Act that the council of the Rural
Municipality of Morris has scheduled a public hearing at
the Rural Municipality of Morris council chambers at 207
Main Street North, Morris on March 8 th , at 10:00a.m.
Council will hear any potential taxpayer who wishes to make
a representation, ask questions or register an objection to
the following special service:
The RM of Morris intends to levy a special service tax over
all properties (taxable and grant-in-lieu) in the municipality,
including exempt properties, within each special service
area (SSA)*. The proceeds of these special levies will be
given to volunteers in each community to run a community
centre district (CCD).These special levies will be levied on
each special service area to produce the following amount
of money, and will also have the following impact on a
property assessed at $100,000.00.

It should be noted that the above maximum ‘Estimated
Cost Range’ will increase by five (5%) percent in each of
the years in which this by-law will be effective to provide
for future inflationary factors.
Potential taxpayers wishing to object to the special services
plan may file an objection, by mail or in person, with the
Chief Administrative Officer, at 207 Main Street North,
Morris prior to the start of the public hearing.
All objections, written or verbal, must be filed prior to the
adjournment of the hearing and must include the name,
address and property description of the person filing the
objection and the grounds of their objection.
Copies of the special service plan are available for review
and may be examined by any potential taxpayer during
regular office hours of the Municipal Office at 207 Main
Street North in Morris, Manitoba. Any taxpayer may also
call the Chief Administrative Officer at 746-7300 for further
details.
