Help Quarriers give
young people hope
this Christmas
Local charity Quarriers is supporting young people
facing Christmas with nowhere to go, no safe and loving
home or reliable care from any adults in their lives. The
Box of Hope Appeal will give young homeless people
dignity, belonging and hope this festive season by
funding practical gifts.
The appeal features Ross who, as a child, would sit
alone for hours waiting for his mum. His parents tried
to look after him, but he often didn’t eat and felt scared.
Never having had the security a real home should
provide, Ross is now 18 and getting help and support from Quarriers Youth Homeless Service.
This Christmas, readers can donate £10 for a Starter Box which includes basic items to help restore dignity. A £20
Christmas Box will mean a young person will get a at least one Christmas present and feel the excitement of the festive
season and a sense of belonging. A £50 Moving on Box provides items to help get them on their feet and give them
hope for the future.
If you would like to offer dignity, belonging and hope to a young person this Christmas, please send a cheque/PO payable
to Quarriers to Box of Hope, Quarriers Village, Bridge of Weir PA11 3SX. You can call and pay by card on 01505 690 875
or donate online at www.quarriers.org.uk/hope.
Hospice Light
Up A Life
Sunday 4th December at 6.30pm
Light Up A Life is your opportunity to
remember and celebrate the lives of
your family and friends in a special
way at this time of year. Our Light
Up A Life appeal this year will focus
on supporting those people who are
being helped to stay at home with
their loved ones when life is nearing
the end. It costs around £20,000 per
month for our team of district nurses,
doctors and carers to help patients
stay surrounded by their family and
loved ones.
You can attend our Light Up A Life
Christmas Service on Sunday 4th
December at 6.30pm. We will
be holding a special service of
remembrance at the Westburn
Church, Nelson Street, Greenock
where we will be lighting up the
tree in memory of your loved ones.
Following this service, we can all
witness the actual turning on of our
lights then enjoy some refreshments
in the Church Hall.
