NATURE PROGRAMS FOR PRESCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN<br />

SATURDAYS IN NATURE<br />

This program is held on the second Saturday of each month at the<br />

Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary. Arrive anytime between 9 and 11:30<br />

AM. The program ends at 12 noon. A guided nature walk will begin at<br />

10 AM. No reservations required. Donations are encouraged. This is<br />

a “whole family” program; parents or other adult guardians should<br />

participate with their children. Upcoming programs include <strong>March</strong><br />

program on Wildflower Walk(Cone Seed Starter).<br />

THE TITMOUSE CLUB<br />

The Titmouse Club is a nature program for children ages 2 ½ to 5<br />

sponsored by the Houston Audubon Docent Guild. The program is<br />

offered every Tuesday and Wednesday morning, 10 to 11 AM, from<br />

mid-September until mid-May at the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary,<br />

440 Wilchester Boulevard. Each week features a different nature theme<br />

and may include nature talks, stories, hands-on activities and walks<br />

in the woods. For more information, go to www.houstonaudubon.org<br />

and look under Audubon Docents. The cost is $5 per child per session<br />

or a 5-session card can be purchased for $20. The child must be accompanied<br />

NATURE EXPLORERS CLUB<br />

Nature Explorers Club is designed<br />

for school-age children (ages<br />

6-10, K-5 th ) who are interested in<br />

investigating the natural world.<br />

Each month we will explore a<br />

different ecology topic, focusing<br />

on our own native plants and<br />

animals. We will make a craft to<br />

take home, go on a nature hike,<br />

dip-net for fish and tadpoles<br />

in the ponds and get to know<br />

the plants and animals of the<br />

Bayou City! Fee/reservations are<br />

The <strong>2017</strong> NCAA Men’s<br />

Division I Basketball<br />

Tournament will involve 68<br />

teams playing in a singleelimination<br />

tournament<br />

to determine the national<br />

champion of men’s NCAA<br />

Division I college basketball. It is scheduled to begin on <strong>March</strong> 14, <strong>2017</strong>,<br />

and will conclude with the championship game on April 3 at University<br />

of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The championship game<br />

will be the first contested in a Western state since 1995 when Seattle,<br />

Washington was the host of the Final Four for that year.<br />
