CITY OF WANNEROO FOOD TRUCK TRIAL UNDERWAY
Residents have welcomed news of a
food truck trial in the City of Wanneroo.
The program is being trialled until
June 2017 in a number of strategic
locations using two different models.
The fi rst model involves a nominated
operator coordinating food trucks on a
fortnightly basis at a number of parks
in the South Ward. Registered food
truck operators for this model are:
Bee Delighted Mobile Café,
Porto Pizza, Base WF Pizza, Zam Van,
Anton’s Bratwurst, Tika Tango, The
Sweet Box Cart and The Wooden Box.
Others interested in coordinating
under this model are encouraged to
contact the City. The second model
involves a number of registered
operators trading in specifi c times in
approved areas throughout the City.
Registered food trucks for this model
are: The Food Files, Snack Man,
Shiraz Soft Serve, Green on the Go,
That Greek Food Truck, AJ’s Food
Truck, The Food Files, Gourmet
Coaster, Gourmet Poshdog, The
Sweet Box Cart, The Wooden Box
and Zam Van.
Mayor Tracey Roberts said the trial was
in response to community feedback.
“As a community driven initiative, we
encourage people to suggest other
possible locations by contacting the
City,” Mayor Roberts said.
Landsdale resident Nicole Reeley
was impressed with the trucks at
Warradale Park recently. “It was a
great evening! I had an amazing
chicken poke bowl from The Green
on the Go truck - it was delicious!”
Jessica Price, also from Landsdale,
agreed. “I am loving the food trucks,”
she said. “They are a great idea for a
Saturday night with the kids.”
Suggestions for other suitable food
truck locations should be emailed to
facilitybooking@wanneroo.wa.gov.au
The City will approve suitable sites
based on a number of criteria including
the distance from existing food outlets,
proximity to residential housing and
easy access to main roads.
People who are interested in
becoming a registered food truck
operator in the City must have an
existing Food Act 2008 Registration
Certifi cate from their Local Authority
and are required to obtain a trading
licence from the City of Wanneroo to
participate in the trial.

Want to know the best areas to wine,
dine and explore?
The City has launched an exciting
visitor website which will promote
Wanneroo’s tourism attractions and
encourage visitors to the region.
The dedicated website aims to
support local businesses by marketing
the Wanneroo region to domestic and
international markets by showcasing
the very best of the area.
Operators can submit and manage
their own free listing which is
published across multiple websites
and guides across WA while the City
markets the website.
EasyRider Adventures owner Michael
Bone said ‘Discover Wanneroo’
would give his business exposure to
a wider audience which would create
opportunities and visitors.
“Because we offer a completely
unique opportunity for families and
friends to ‘segway’ together
at an affordable cost, it is vital
that we are able to update
photos and videos to make
sure the right message is sent
every time,” he said.
“The City helped me set up
my original profi le. Having
their support is helping
me develop the business to
its next stage and I can’t thank
them enough.”
