2016 Works on Paper overall winner<br />

One of the major features of<br />
the City of Wanneroo’s cultural<br />
calendar, the <strong>2017</strong> City of<br />
Wanneroo Community Art Awards<br />
and Exhibition is now underway<br />
and accepting submissions from<br />
artists.<br />
First time exhibitors, hobbyists,<br />
semi-professionals and professional<br />
artists throughout Western Australia<br />
are invited to enter works, be eligible<br />
to win from the $16,800 in prize<br />
money and potentially sell their<br />
artwork.<br />
With only 230 entries being<br />
accepted for display, the exhibition<br />
provides an ideal opportunity to<br />
showcase local Wanneroo artists<br />
and those from the wider Western<br />
Australian arts community.<br />
Entries opened in early February<br />
and will close when 230 valid<br />
submissions have been received,<br />
or by 4pm on Friday 7 April <strong>2017</strong>.<br />

exhibition program promises<br />
to deliver a range of exciting,<br />
ecletic and contemporary<br />
exhibitions to our world class<br />
Gallery spaces.<br />
The City of Wanneroo<br />
appreciates the importance of<br />
bringing a wide range of art<br />
exhibitions and their associated<br />
educational programs and<br />
workshops to our residents.<br />
Our <strong>2017</strong> program will welcome<br />
many fabulous exhibitions<br />
including Montages: The Full Cut,<br />
1999-2015 by Tracey Moffatt<br />
and Gary Hillberg and the<br />
Anne Frank Travelling Exhibition.<br />
We are also very excited to again<br />
be working with the Aboriginal<br />
girls from Girrawheen Senior<br />
High School to bring you the next<br />
instalment of Yokayi Waarbiny<br />

The City of Wanneroo has 250<br />
artworks in its art collection which<br />
is now available to view online.<br />
The collection includes paintings,<br />
works on paper, photographs and<br />
small sculptures.<br />
The online gallery gives Wanneroo<br />
residents and the general public an<br />
easy way to view artworks that are<br />
on display across the City, as well<br />
as to see what artists are<br />
represented in the collection.<br />
The gallery aims to promote and<br />
foster an appreciation of Wanneroo’s<br />
and Western Australia’s rich artistic<br />
heritage by making it available from<br />
the comfort of people’s homes.<br />
