y Jordan Jackson Frontenacs This Week // CogecoTV The keys to a win for the Kingston Frontenacs tonight against the Ottawa 67’s will come down to how effective they are on these key points in their game plan. 1. SET THE TONE FOR THE BACK TO BACK The final two meetings of the regular season between these two long-time rivals happen on back to back nights this Friday and Saturday. For weekend winning both home games against Niagara, as well as a huge game against Hamilton. Confidence and momentum can be huge in hockey and now that Kingston seems to have both of those factors back in their favour, it’s important that they don’t let it get away. Stay strong, continue the good habits, and keep the ball rolling on home ice. 3. LOCK DOWN A PLAYOFF SPOT KWith a win over Ottawa tonight, Kingston would officially lock up a playoff spot. They had a chance on Wednesday in Oshawa but weren’t able either of the two teams to be successful this weekend they are going to have to win at least one of the two games. The best way to ensure that happens is to get the first one. If Kingston sets the tone tonight on home ice, they can carry that momentum with them on the road tomorrow night to Ottawa. Hopefully they have the motivation to get this one tonight to get the back to back started off right and that leads to consecutive wins against their division rival. 2. KEEP THE BALL ROLLING After a couple tough games against Western opponents recently, Kingston’s home ice record had suffered a little bit. They got right back on track last to come away with a win. Now they have a chance to do it on home ice in front of their fans. Every hockey team sets goals at the start of the season and one of those goals is always to make the playoffs. With a solid effort that results in a win tonight, they can check that box off the list and celebrate with their own fans at home. They would love to lock up that spot as quickly as possible so they can begin to focus solely on claiming home ice advantage in round one.
