FAMILY LIFE MINISTRY
The ANAT Family Life Ministry is comprised of Marriage Counselling (lead by Sister Mathias), Singles Ministry (Led by Sister
Hutton), Senior Care (Led by Sister Joseph & Sister H Dawson) and Agape (lead by Brother and Sister Tomlinson). We
are grateful for the opportunity to have served our families in various ways for 2016 and pray that the Lord will continue
to strengthen, unite and bless every family to achieve their highest potential in Him.
Marriage Counselling
Sister Mathias and her team provided several weeks of pre-marital counselling sessions for the six persons who got married
this year. Post-marital counselling classes were held almost every Sunday morning during Sunday School and is
opened to any married person. These sessions have proven to be a real blessing to all couples who have been in attendance.
AGAPE
The Agape group had three main events for the year which were:
The Couples Banquet held at Verdi's Banquet Hall in February was well attended and enjoyed. The evening started
with a fine introduction and red carpet walk which each couple got to meet each other half way in their own romantic
style. Some persons took the opportunity to sing, recite romantic poems and just overall spend a beautiful relaxing afternoon
dinning with their sharply dressed spouse. These special moments were captured on film by a professional photographer.
The Couples and Singles Outing on the Boardwalk at Coney Island turned out to be a very hot day so the turnout was
not as hoped, however, over 20 persons came and reported having a great time enjoying the beautiful site, relaxing on
the beach, fellowshipping with each other and challenging themselves on the rides at the park.
Bro & Sister Mathias The Family Life Conference was conducted under the theme “Impacting The Families For More”. We had breakout
sessions for various groups in the family and had facilitators discuss how to impact the family to achieve more in Christ.
The sessions were very well received and some persons such as the seniors even came away with action plans to help
them feel more valuable in the body of Christ.
Singles Ministry
In February 2016, 32 singles joined forces with several outreach organizations in New York City for the "Don't Walk By" initiative. This is a city search and rescue
mission to rescue the homeless from off the streets of New York City during the harsh winter month season. The group was challenged and left the outreach
with a different mindset, to be more grateful and reminded them that the fields are white and ready to harvest. In May 2016, the singles of all ages and seniors
of ANAT came together for a motivating and inspiring time of self development. All were challenged to do a little more to improve self and enjoy the pursuit of
life, liberty and happiness. In August 2016, the Singles Ministry hosted a back to school drive and provided school supplies for students in our community. In
November, they also hosted a clothes drive in which lightly used clothes were provided for members of our community.
Senior Care
On May 27 th , 2016, the Seniors went on an excursion, a fun day at Coney Island Amusement Park. They had a picnic and went on various rides. The day
ended at the aquarium where they enjoyed an informative session and then were entertained by dolphins.
The Seniors and Singles Department joined forces in conducting a session aimed at bridging the “gap” between the two groups. There were discussions on
how this can be achieved, communicating our needs and accessing community resources. The evening ended with a birthday celebration for the seniors.
