EVANGELISM highlights our work with inmates
The All Nations Apostolic Tabernacle has been a vibrant outreach post for nearly 20 years. The ministry team comprises ministers from both the Temple and the Tabernacle.
We visit the George R. Vierno Center (GRVC) every month on the second (2nd) Saturday. The GRVC facility is an all male detention center located within the
Ryker's Island Correctional facilities. The team is also permitted to have a pre-Christmas service annually.
The year started off with early challenges to the success of our services. We saw low attendance of inmates
in the fourth quarter of 2015 and it continued in January 2016. On February
13th, 2016, the Lord allowed us to have zero attendance on that day. We
used the day to worship and exalt the Lord. The rich presence of the Lord
Jesus saturated the chapel and all of the ministers felt the comforting spirit
of the Holy Ghost. We left that service further committed to doing the work
of the ministry by persevering against all odds.
We appealed to our sponsor Chaplain and to the escorts to have the inmates
informed and mobilized sooner in order to improve attendance. We found
favor in the eyes of the Lord as more people participated in the services as
the year progressed. At one time, the attendance swelled to over 15 towards
the latter part of the year.
The services are surely needed. During the testimony portion of the service,
inmates testified of how the Lord wakes them up to read the Word and pray
and encourages them to have devotion and Bible studies in small groups. At least 3 of the inmates were heard speaking in tongues
during worship and prayer. We believed that they had an apostolic experience prior to being incarcerated. At least 2 of the facility
officers who acts as escorts have testified that they enjoy the worship and the messages they heard.
The inmates and officers are from several ethnic groups and from various nationalities. The vision of All Nations Apostolic Tabernacle
is a key driver for all the team members. We are committed to fulfilling the great commission which is to preach the gospel to every
nation. The dedicated team is focused daily to prepare themselves to minister to this captive audience that the Lord has provide for
us.
We will endeavor to continue this ministry, anticipating that the Lord will give us some certified miracles along the way. We are hoping
to see at least five (5) new converts through this ministry in 2017. Together with the leaders of ANAT Evangelism Ministry and the
team leaders Brothers Dorion Norton Sr. and Ian Dillon, we believe we are poised to see God demonstrate his authority over sins, sicknesses
and diseases through miracles at this facility. We continue to covet your prayers as we labor more in this area of God’s vineyard.
