Arthritis aid and circulation
booster returns to Kapiti
It all started when a worried wife from Kapiti found a
way of relieving her husband’s severe arthritic pain and
stiffness. She created a device she called an Aircycle.
Arthritis carers were so impressed
with the relief and increased joint
mobility this man experienced they
asked for more to be made available to
other sufferers.
Consequently, a cousin of the creator,
Jenny Watson from Lower Hutt, started
the Aircycle business which she has grown
to the extent that the exerciser can now be
purchased through most pharmacies and
mobility centres.
Jenny’s recently decided it’s time to retire.
She says “I’ve loved working with senior
people, hearing their health worries
and sharing their excitement when they
find they can walk without their walker
now or talk of their ankle swelling disappearing
‘like a miracle’”.
The new owner, Sue Bustard, whose
background is Account Management, lives
in Kapiti where the Aircycle was founded.
She’s thrilled with the constant feedback
from customers. “Finally I’ve found an
amazing product which I’m absolutely
passionate about. This simple, clever invention
actually changes peoples lives.”
Sue says: “You don’t have to designate
special exercise times or work long periods
with an Aircycle. Just keep your joints
and muscles moving gently while sitting
having coffee, reading, watching TV, working
at a desk or travelling by car or plane.
It’s so simple and inexpensive.”
The letters and phone calls received
from people are amazing. Here are a few

I’ve had my Aircycle for 7 weeks and
use it regularly each evening while watching
the 6 o’clock news and again for 10 or
15 minutes before going to bed. Quite often
when sitting down with a cup of tea I
will treadle for 10 minutes. I haven’t had
any sign of cramp, which every night was
so painful, for the last 7 weeks. Besides no
cramp both my ankles are back to normal
and not swollen anymore."
