NZ GREYPOWER MAGAZINE » MARCH 2017
MISTAKES CAN HAPPEN
But it is how you deal with them that counts
As an advertising representative for Grey Power
magazine it is my worst nightmare to hear from
one of my advertisers that a mistake has been made.
BY DEBBIE JAMIESON
Unfortunately in
the November
2016 issue that is
exactly what happened.
We inadvertently ran
an old advert for the
9th Edition of the Stay
Healthy Book – a top selling
health book published
by natural product supplier
Health House.
We should have run
their advert for the new
10th Edition which is advertised
on page 15.
When I was speaking
to Health House managing
director, Mike Coory
50097
Medal Mounting
• Court or swing style of full size
or miniature medals. Ribbon
bars prepared.
• Extra sets of medals for family
members. Supplier of replica
WWII wings and brevet.
• A framing service is available
for those within driving
distance of Kapiti.
about the error, instead
of getting grumpy, he
suggested I come and visit
his factory in Tauranga
and bring magazine editor
Mike Blake with me.
He wanted to show us
how important quality
and ‘getting it right’ was
to his business.
They built a bespoke
factory in the Tauriko
Business Estate so they
could make their own nutraceuticals
to the highest
standard possible.
When we arrived we
walked into a very modern
retail shop, boldly
displaying Health House
30 years experience • NZ Defence Force approved mounter
product. Quite soon after,
even though we were
early Mike came down
and suggested a tour of
the premises.
He introduced us to
quality manager Ginna
who explained how everything
is thoroughly
checked, approved and
tested before being authorised
to go into manufacturing.
We were then taken on
a tour but before we could
enter the clean rooms we
had to wear full protective
clothing including white
coat, hat and in Mike’s
case a face mask because
he has a moustache.
We were shown the
many machines in operation
that day and production
supervisor Jane
walked us through all the
in-process checks they
complete.
The processing machines
were pristine and
it was quite amazing how
they produced pills from
powder that was carefully
loaded into a hopper on
top.
Every ingredient is
weighed, bagged and triple
checked, before being
blended.
Every half hour the
capsules, creams and gels
are weighed and checked
to make sure they are being
filled to the correct
amount.
Health House has two
cleaning rooms and strict
cleaning procedures.
The hallways are
cleaned every day and the
rooms and machines are
cleaned from top to bottom
between each manufacturing
run.
The stainless sinks,
pure white walls and machines
just gleam.
After checking, bottling
and labelling, a further
audit is completed
by the quality manager
before any product is released
to the public.
Every production run
has its own unique number
so that for any reason
they can trace back to origin
of ingredient, bottle,
tube or label.
After leaving the manufacturing
rooms, our
next stop was dispatch.
This is where we
learned that when an order
is placed for a Health
House product, it is double-checked
to eliminate
mistakes and then sent
out the same or following
working day after the order
is received.
Dispatch invoices are
automated and scanned
as a third check - this also
ensures that the order
can be tracked to your
door.
The last stop was the
factory shop where the
books and health products
that Health House
make can be purchased.
The shop was clean,
sharp and modern.
And after a ‘show and
tell’ around the displays
Mike made sure we did
not leave without loading
us up with armfuls of natural
health products and
the free gift that all new
customers receive.
Our visit to Health
House was a great experience
and we now understand
much more about
the quality processes and
steps that they put into
every product they make.
Mike can be sure that
we will show the same attention
to detail with his
advertisements in the future.
That’s the same attention
we show to all our
clients.
