ElringKlinger has evolved into a global
player, with over 4,500 employees and a
presence at 29 locations around the world.
However, most of the buildings the company occupies
in Dettingen/Erms were constructed in
the 1960s and 1970s. “We simply had to have a
new reception and rebuild and modernise the administration
wing,” said CEO Dr. Stefan Wolf.
“Dettingen is our headquarters, and it’s essential
to project the right image – an image of success.
We had also outgrown the original buildings.”
Work began in the autumn of 2008 and continued
for a year and a half; scores of guests from
the fields of commerce, industry and politics were
then invited to the official opening ceremony,
which took place on 15 June 2010. Thomas Reumann,
district administrator for Reutlingen, and
Michael Hillert, the mayor of Dettingen, were
present to offer their congratulations on a “highly
accomplished project”. The total investment
for the renovation work was almost EUR 5 million.
