HOUSTON WING - COMMEMORATIVE
AIR FORCE 2017 OPEN HOUSE
& VINTAGE AIRCRAFT FLY-IN
April 22-23, 2017 will be a weekend dedicated in recognition of the
70 th anniversary the formation of the United States Air Force, as the
Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Houston Wing presents its annual Open
House at the West Houston Airport. This event provides a rare opportunity
for the public of all ages to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds
of WWII and other authentic vintage military aircraft, which played a huge
role in our American history.
In addition to aircraft, several historic military vehicles will be on display
as well as a very unique anti-aircraft gun trailer exhibit from the Battleship
Texas. Our hangar’s WWII museum will also be open and docents will be
available to help all ages enjoy the museum’s displays.
West Houston Airport is located at 18000 Groschke Rd., 2 miles north of
I-10 and between Hwy. 6 and Barker Cypress, will be the place to visit
on Saturday and Sunday, April 22 nd and 23 rd from 10 AM to 5 PM. The
admission fee is $10 per car, which goes to supporting the organizations
efforts to keep these aircraft flying. Food, drinks and souvenirs and vintage
aircraft rides will be available for purchase. For additional information, go
