Lockport won the invite
with 85 points, ahead of
West Aurora (77) and Downers
Grove North (71), which
rounded out the Top 3 of the
15 teams competing. Bollinger,
who won the 1,600m
by more than two seconds,
was also part of the first-place
3,200m relay team. Kayla
Isom, Aubrey Friedrich and
Kate Wojcikiewicz also ran
for the Porters.
Other Top 3 finishes included
Jaclyn Greci taking
second in the 200m (25.48)
and Isom finishing third in the
Skye Aguilar, Angelica Iwan
Baseball
Lockport 7, Plainfield East 1
Ryne Travis knocked in
three RBI as the Porters won
their third straight game, topping
Plainfield East 7-1 Saturday,
April 22, on the road.
Travis was 2-for-3 at the
plate with a run scored. His
two-RBI double was part of
a four-run sixth inning which
put the game out of reach for
the home team, as Lockport
jumped ahead 6-0.
CJ Weins scored two runs
for the Porters, including one
in the top of the first to put
the Porters up 1-0. Lockport
would tack one a run in both
the fourth and fifth innings.
Plainfield East answered in
the bottom of the sixth, but it
was too little, too late.
Weins also got the win on
the bump, recording a hit and
a strikeout over two innings.
Lockport 11, Bolingbrook 1
Ben Davis went the distance,
striking out six batters
in Lockport’s 11-1 win
over Bolingbrook Thursday,
April 20. The game was
called after five innings.
CJ Weins led the Porters
at the plate, driving in four
RBI off two hits — including
a two-run blast in the
third to put his team ahead
6-1. Connor Fitzgerald went
2-for-3 with two RBI and a
run scored.
Bolingbrook took a
1-0 lead in the top of the
first, but Lockport wasted
no time answering. Jake
Suchor, Brent Mcdowell
and Nick Strysik all
singled to start the inning,
with the latter two notching
RBI singles. Back-to-back
walks loaded the bases
for Weins, who singled to
drive home Strysik and
Matt Harder, putting Lockport
ahead 4-1.
An error and a single put
runners in scoring position
in the bottom of the fourth
for Lockport. Ryne Travis
and Jimmy Heintz both
doubled to push two more
runs across. Weins followed
up with a two-run single as
the Porters jumped out to a
10-1 lead.
Lockport added its final
run in the fifth when Jimmy
