Tirol is one of the largest regions of life sciences in Austria. It’s not<br />
without cause that the pharmaceutical company Sandoz produces<br />
most of its generic products in the Tirol.<br />
In addition to a unique nature and landscape the Tirol also offers<br />
excellent conditions for companies and researchers: a convenient<br />
geographical position in Central Europe, universities and world-<br />
renowned research institutions, customized subsidies for research,<br />
innovation and start-ups, top qualified and motivated employees,<br />
short ways to cooperation partners and clinical institutions.<br />
The Tirolean life sciences companies and researchers have access to<br />
a close-knit network. All of the activities mentioned above are being<br />
concentrated by the Life Science <strong>Cluster</strong> of the Tirolean Future Foundation.<br />
The <strong>Cluster</strong> with approximately 50 members forms a platform for<br />
industry and research in the area of medicine technologies, biotechnologies<br />
and pharmaceuticals.<br />

UseNet Software is an IT-System Integrator specialised on IT-Security<br />
and Identity Management. UseNet offers consulting as well as<br />
implementing solutions. For hospitals UseNet Software offers a<br />
standardized solution, TrustedSimp-Med®, as result of project<br />
experiences. TrustedSimp-Med® controls the access to personal data<br />
compliant with laws and regulations and fits optimal to the clinical<br />
processes. Misuse of data is nearly impossible.<br />
Trustedsimp-Med® includes Single Sign On with smartcards for access<br />
to the IT-applications as single identifier for the user. Only by inserting<br />
the smartcard into the PC clinicians get specific, secure and fast access<br />
to a patient’s data. Different passwords for the applications are<br />
no longer necessary. Thus optimized and secure use of the applications<br />
and data by the medical team e.g. during ward rounds or in the outpatient<br />
department is granted. In addition costs and time for the ITadministration<br />
are reduced.<br />
