February 23 rd and 24 th<br />
were the worst days of my<br />
life. I came to this<br />
conclusion because on the 23 rd<br />
of February I found out that I<br />
didn't make it into my dream<br />
program at Humber College.<br />
Then on 24 th of February, I also<br />
found out that I was not<br />
admitted to my desired<br />
program.<br />
Immediately, I remembered<br />
being called stupid and dumb<br />
for being IEP (Individualized<br />
Education Program). I began to<br />
regret trying in school and<br />
denied my faith that whole<br />
week.<br />
“I truly hated the word faith”<br />
…and when anyone would say<br />
have “faith” I would<br />
automatically block them out,<br />
including my mother.<br />
In the afternoon of February<br />
24 th , my aunt emailed me a link<br />
to a program that she<br />
thought I should apply for.<br />
I truly didn't want to, but I had a<br />
thread of faith. So, I applied to<br />
four schools. Though I had an<br />
ounce faith, I prepared myself<br />
for the worst "Dear Du’Quan<br />
…We are unable to give you an<br />
offer. All the best in your<br />
studies”.<br />
Sunday, February 26th, I truly<br />
didn't want to go to church. All<br />
week I had been debating if I<br />
should or shouldn't attend.<br />
“I truly thank God for Sunday,<br />
February 26, 2017.”<br />
From the beginning of church, I<br />
thought it was worthless to<br />
worship God. In my distracted<br />
state, I saw how the Holy Spirit<br />
touched my grandmother. This<br />
was my first reality check.<br />
My second reality check was the<br />
sermon that Sunday "Diversion”<br />
by Pastor S. Williams. This<br />
message focused on being<br />
redirected from your path of<br />
success.<br />
That Sunday night was Lord<br />
Supper. I shared the events of<br />
my week with my church family.<br />
I declared at that moment that I<br />
believed that God holds the<br />
whole world in his hands.<br />
The following week on Monday<br />
and Tuesday I received four<br />
offers from four different<br />
colleges.<br />
Therefore, let us truly give God<br />
the glory and the praise. "Hold<br />
on, for today might bring a<br />
drought but if you believe, God<br />
will hear your cry and bring a<br />
flood of rain".<br />
For I the LORD thy God will hold thy<br />
right hand, saying unto thee, Fear<br />
not; I will help thee. Isaiah 41:13<br />
