9. Lip Brush
A lip brush is great for applying lipstick and gloss. It is especially
important when applying the deeper shades as
it allows for a more precise application than when applying
from the tube. It is also great for blending and mixing
different lip colours together as well as blending out lip liner.
10. THE SPOOLY BRUSH
This tiny angle brush is especially important when trying
to get those brows right, as it allows you to fill in
even the thinnest part of your brows and also enhances
the shape and colour of your brow. The spooly wand
removes mascara clumps and separates lashes.
How to Clean Makeup Brushes:
Not only do dirty makeup brushes breed bacteria, but they can
also affect the colour of your makeup. It's super important to
clean your makeup brushes. Just think about all the dirt and oil
that accumulates on those bristles and how terrible it can be
on your skin; especially if you continue using them in that condition.
Skipping good, regular cleansing can lead to clogged
pores and breakouts. Not only will cleaning your tools help
keep bacteria off your face but it will also condition those precious
tools and will help last a very long time.
Here are some quick tips:
• For heavily soiled makeup brushes, wash them with lukewarm
water and a mild soap or baby shampoo. Alternatively,
you can buy makeup brush cleaners in the shops.
• For lightly soiled brushes, keep running the water through
the brushes until you've rinsed away most of the old makeup.
Make sure the brushes are angled downward into the
stream of water. Remember to avoid getting water underneath
the metal clasp of the handle, as this will ruin the
glue that holds the bristles together.
• Leave the brushes to dry overnight on top of a towel or
tissue. Let the brushes dry completely before using them,
especially on powdered makeup. If your brushes are even
slightly-damp, you may ruin your powder makeup. Additionally
use a paper towel to dry off the bristles and shape
them as you go.
Investing in the right make up tools will ensure that your makeup
looks marvellous all day long. So next time you go makeup
shopping, remember to include these brushes as essential additions
to your makeup collection, and steal the show wherever
you go!
