Advent by Candlelight
Ed Mullins ©
aAdvent by Candlelight is an absolutely beautiful evening and a perfect
way for busy women to start the holiday season. Beautifully decorated
tables serve as the backdrop for shared hors d’oeuvres, dessert and
coffee. Afterwards, a procession leads women into the sanctuary to
enjoy music and hear four women of the church share their insights on
the Advent season. Hostesses invite seven other women from inside
and outside the church to join them, and provide festive decorations for
their table, an hors d’oeurve to share and a favorite dessert.
Advent by Candlelight will be Monday, December 7 at 6:15 PM.
Blue Christmas
Sunday, December 13 at 4 PM
For some, the holidays have a way of focusing and heightening our
sadness and fears. We can feel “out of step” with the celebration
going on everywhere around us. At the Blue Christmas service we
will have a chance to address the issues that are weighing some
of us down. There will be words of encouragement, prayers for
healing, glimmers of light and hope for tomorrow. Please join us.
Holiday Giving
aAt this time of year we often have parishioners
who want to give a special Christmas offering
over and above their pledge. So that the
church accounting office correctly interprets
your giving intentions during the holidays,
please do the following:
If you wish to make a pledge payment:
• Use your regular
pledge envelopes
for the month of
December.
• Make your
check payable to
“Christ Church
Cranbrook.”
• Write your envelope number and “2009
Pledge Payment” on the memo line.
If you wish to make a Christmas
contribution:
• Use the Christmas envelope dated
December 25, 2009.
• Make your check payable to “Christ
Church Cranbrook.”
• Write your envelope number and
“Christmas 2009” on the memo line.
If you would like to make both a
Christmas contribution and a pledge
payment:
• Please write separate checks and use
the appropriate envelope for each
contribution.
4-Part Offering
• When making your check for the 4-Part
Offering for Altar Flowers, Music,
Outreach and Columbarium, please
indicate “4-Part Offering” on the memo
line.
• If you would like your offerings to be
acknowledged in the Christmas Eve
bulletins, please return your request form
no later than December 10.
