A GRAND CELEBRATION
OF THE ARTS
The Madison Museum of Contemporary <strong>Art</strong>
(MMoCA) provides free exhibitions and education
programs, creating transformative experiences
that educate, reflect, and inspire us as individuals
and a community. As an independent, non-profit
museum, MMoCA plays an important role, offering
direct experiences with works of art to a wide
audience, providing a forum for the exchange of
ideas, and by offering programs to enhance the
appreciation and understanding of art.
On the second full weekend of July each year,
MMoCA presents <strong>Art</strong> <strong>Fair</strong> on the Square on
the eight blocks surrounding the beautiful State
Capitol building. While the fair is MMoCA’s
most important fundraiser of the year, it is also a
beloved annual art celebration that boosts tourism,
nationwide visibility, trade, quality of life, and city
pride in Madison. Nearly 200,000 visitors from
Wisconsin and across the country enjoy a wide
range of art, music, dance, family entertainment,
and foods in the open air.
