Associates Serving a World in Need

Associates – also called Consociates, ‘Ohana, and Familia
De San José * – are women and men, married and single,
who seek a deeper relationship with the Sisters of
St. Joseph of Carondelet without becoming vowed
members of the community. We share in the faith
community, ministry, prayer, and celebrations of the Sisters.
As Associates, we strive to deepen
our spiritual life while continuing
our active lives as spouses,
professionals, parents, caregivers
and retirees. We endeavor to share
our gifts, talents, and resources to
promote the Gospel message of
justice, peace, and love.
Associates are called to listen to
the cry of the poor, those on the
fringes of society, the homeless,
and those in prison. We are
challenged to become involved,
to be instruments of change in
our society.
Whether we minister in the fields
of education, healthcare, or social
work; whether we stay home to
care for a sick parent, child or
spouse; whether we volunteer in
a parish, a hospital, or a homeless
shelter; or we engage in a ministry
of prayer and presence, in all of
these ways we are participating
in the mission of Jesus by living
the Gospel values of active love
of God and inclusive love of
neighbor without distinction.

Asociados – también llamados
Consocios, ‘Ohana y Familia
De San José * – son hombres
y mujeres, casados o solteros.
Buscan una profunda relacion
con las Hermanas de San José
de Carondelet sin ser miembros
con votos religiosos. Comparten
la comunidad de fe, ministerio
apostólico, oración y las
celebraciones con las Hermanas.

Como Asociados, nosotros
buscamos profundizar en
nuestra vida spiritual mientras
continuamos nuestra vida activa
como pareja, profesionales,
padres de familia, cuidado de
familiares y como jubilados.
Nosotros hacemos lo mejor
para compartir nuestros talentos
y recursos para promover el
mensaje evangélico de amor,
justicia, y paz.
Los Asociados estamos llamados a
escuchar el gemido del pobre, y de
todos aquellos que son rechazados
por la sociedad, los prisioneros y
los que no tienen dónde vivir.
Seguimos el desafío de
comprometernos para ser
instrumentos de cambio en
nuestra sociedad.
Ya sea que estemos en el
ministerio del campo educativo,
cuidado de la salud, trabajo social;
ya sea que estemos al cuidado
de la salud de nuestros padres,
hijos o cónyuge; ya sea que
trabajemos como voluntarios en la
parroquia, hospital, albergues, o
comprometidos en el ministerio de
la oración y presencia y en todas
aquellas actividades en las que
participamos en la misión de Jesús
viviendo los valores evangélicos
del amor de Dios incluyendo el
amor al prójimo sin distinción.
