- Each person has the right to defend themselves<br />

from persecution, humiliation, abuse, but be<br />

mindful of the fact that god’s first law is that we<br />

do not kill each other<br />

- Each of us has the right to be free from aggression<br />

and acts of hostility towards themselves and<br />

their families and to live in security without fear<br />

of forcible removal of themselves or destruction of<br />

their homes<br />

- Each of us has the right to live free from violence,<br />

terror, murder, persecution, siege, hostage<br />

taking, rape, involuntary detainment, sexual slavery,<br />

and collective punishment<br />

- Each of is has the right to freedom, and sovereign<br />

states have the right to self-determination<br />

and non-interference from others provided they<br />

themselves seek to not interfere<br />

- The psychological terror, abuse, scarring and torture<br />

towards civilians as innocent populations as a<br />

result of acts of war by both sides, irrespective of<br />

the weight of injustice perceived and real by either<br />

side, must be acknowledged as illegitimate<br />

abuse, from humiliation, degradation<br />

and free from political and military assassinations<br />

- The premeditated use of hostages as human<br />

shields and the kidnapping of civilians are crimes<br />

- In the event of inner-city warfare, defending<br />

forces must avoid situating military targets<br />

near populated areas, and attacking forces must<br />

provide enough warnings and exit routes to the<br />

civilian population<br />

- Armed attacks designed to undermine civilian<br />

morale are illegal<br />

- Rape designed as a means of intimidation and<br />

of undermining morale towards the opposing<br />

side is illegal<br />

- A country, military government or usurping<br />

power which takes over a country whether justified<br />

or not must immedi-ately provide security<br />

and humanitarian services for the civilians under<br />

their control<br />

- Targets that are adjacent to areas necessary to<br />

the survival of the civilian population must not<br />

be attacked<br />

- Cluster bombs cannot be used in populated<br />

areas<br />

- All people have the right to live in safety with<br />

dignity and security free from military occupation<br />

- Violence and war will only cause greater pain<br />

and suffering and reduce future chances for<br />

peaceful resolution of conflicts<br />

- Only through the awareness of human suffering<br />

and compassion for others regardless of nationality,<br />

race,<br />

gender or religious preference will we bring<br />

peace to the earth<br />
