<strong>The</strong> Day <strong>of</strong><br />
Armith<br />
In accordance with the plan, Sa' d bin Abi Waqqas ~<br />
raised the battle cry <strong>of</strong> Allahu Akbar or Allah is Most Great.<br />
A reciter was reciting Su.rah Al-Anfal from the Glorious<br />
Qur' an. <strong>The</strong> fighters repeated, Allahu Akbar loudly. <strong>The</strong><br />
sound <strong>of</strong> this cry rose up from one side <strong>of</strong> the army to the<br />
other. When Sa' d ~ pronounced the first takbir (to magnify<br />
Allah <strong>by</strong> saying Allahu Akbar), the troops got ready for battle.<br />
When he proclaimed" Allah is Most Great" the second time,<br />
they armed themselves. When Sa' d ~ proclaimed "Allah<br />
is Most Great" the third time, the horsemen encouraged<br />
the fighters to step forward and charge. When the takbir<br />
