(( إِذ َا رأ َى أ َح دك ُم رؤيا يحِبها ف َإِنما هِي مِن الل َّهِ‏ ف َل ْيحمدِ‏ الل َّه عل َيها ول ْيحدث ْ بِها ،<br />

وإِذ َا رأ َى غ َير ذ َلِك مِما يك ْره ف َإِنما هِي مِن الشيط َانِ‏ ف َل ْيستعِذ ْ مِن شرها ولا َ يذ ْك ُرها<br />

لِأ َحدٍ‏ ف َإِنها لا َ تضره .))<br />

“If one of you sees a dream which pleases him, it is from Allaah, so let him praise<br />

Allaah and speak about it. But if he sees other things which he dislikes, it is from<br />

Satan, so let him seek refuge in Allaah and not mention it to anyone and it will not<br />

harm him.” 6<br />

Forgetfulness<br />

Another of Satan’s whisperings busies the heart with useless or irrelevant<br />

thoughts until the person forgets what he or she wanted to do. As a result of that,<br />

forgetfulness is attributed to Satan as he is the cause. The Almighty related on the<br />

tongue of Moses’ servant, Yousha ibn Noon:<br />
