Medical Staff Appointments<br />
The <strong>DFM</strong> currently has 1178 privileged physicians. Of the 1178 privileged physicians, 1071 have their primary<br />
AHS appointment with the <strong>DFM</strong> while the remaining 107 physicians hold a primary appointment in another<br />
Department and a supplementary appointment with the <strong>DFM</strong>. The following chart outlines the growth in the <strong>DFM</strong>’s<br />
membership over the past decade.<br />

Academic Appointments<br />
Family Physicians who are engaged in teaching at any level; undergraduate, clerkship, postgraduate, and/or<br />
enhanced skills are encouraged to have an academic appointment.<br />
There are 942 family physicians who hold an academic appointment with the <strong>DFM</strong>.<br />
