What lead you into your current
field? Was it planned or a detour?
Thirteen years ago Saskatchewan was
in a much different place. I had just
graduated from University and like so
many, took off to Alberta to find work
in the oil and gas industry. I was there
for a couple of years until I heard
about a job opening from a friend
who thought might be a good fit for
me. Turns out, it was a good fit. I
packed my bags and headed home to
begin my new career!
How long have you been in the
industry?
In June, it will be 10 years.
Is there someone who has been a
mentor to you in your professional
life and personal life and why?
The first person that comes to mind is
my father, both professionally and
personally. My dad was a small
business owner for many, many years
running a family business. I worked for
him while I was completing
University. He taught me the value,
respect and importance of a
customer.
If you have a good product, the
knowledge to back the product and
ability to enhance your customer’s
experience while maintaining a
strong relationship, you will on the
path to success… another great
lesson from my father.
My father has shown me the
importance of being a good husband
and father. My dad was always there
for his kids, coaching, teaching,
supporting in any way that he could.
He worked hard at his job to give his
children all the opportunities they
wanted. I don’t think I could ask for
much more.

What is the most rewarding part of
your job? What is the least
rewarding?
Every day, something new arises. The
constant learning opportunities that I
come across when working with
operators, engineers and contractors
to problem solve issues they
encounter to make water quality
better for all is what I would consider
one of the most rewarding parts of
my job.
The least rewarding would be that I
seem to be on the last place team at
the SWWA golf tournament every
year… not my best moments!
If you could give advice to someone
looking to get into the industry or
to a student looking into a future
career what would you say?
It’s a great industry to be in, give it a
try. There are many different careers
paths you can explore ranging from
operations, lab technicians, engineers,
environmental and sales, just to name
a few.
What type of education do you
currently hold?
Bachelor of Science in Geography
What are your future plans for your
career?
My long term plan is to continue and
grow my career with ClearTech
Industries. In the future, I see myself
moving into a management role. I
have found it a great company to be a
part of, both professionally and
personally.
What are ways you currently
incorporate to help combat stress
and overwork?
As a Sales Representative, you spend a
lot of time travelling. I’ve always felt
that driving really helps combat
stress. Put on some good music, grab
a delicious snack and go for relaxing
drive! We live in amazing
country…enjoy the view!
Tell us about you, what makes you
tick, what are you passionate
about?
I reside in Saskatoon with my
beautiful wife Kim and our sweet 3
year old daughter Norah. If I’m not
chasing her or spending time with my
wife, odds are you will find me at the
rink playing hockey, at the diamond
playing ball, or adding up my strokes
on the golf course. We look forward to
spending our summers at our family
cabin in Waskesiu.
