Stunning timber windows and doors add value to your property.
A family in Essex have renovated their 1930’s
home, to bring it in line with the expectations
of today. While the whole house has been
refurbished, including creating two extra rooms
in the loft, the main focus was on the rear
garden room. This was put through under
permitted development which currently allows
an 8m extension off of the original footprint of
the building. With the help of Lomax + Wood, a
range of high performance timber windows
and doors were provided alongside a stunning
roof lantern.
Lomax + Wood worked closely with the
architect and customer to understand their
design requirements and the budget. The
family wanted a kitchen that allowed them all
to come together, to dine and socialise,
without it costing the earth. The result is a
stunning single room, light and airy allowing
plenty of space for all to enjoy a range of
everyday family activities. Of course opening
the bi-fold doors also creates an extra large,
stunning space, with the garden adding an
additional feature to any summer party.
The made-to-order timber flush casement
windows, French doors and bi-folding doors
are manufactured in engineered timber which
is knot free and finished in a dual finish, spray
applied micro-porous paint. An antique leaded
light pattern has been incorporated in
preference to a timber glazing bar so as to not
obscure the views of the garden. All are glazed
internally for security with espagnolette
locking and made-to-order ironmongery which
helps set the joinery out from the ordinary.
Lomax + Wood installed all of the products,
including the roof lantern, under their gold
service which meant there was only one point
of contact for the builder and customer. This
simplifies the organisation of labour on site,
save time and ensures any issues are dealt
with quickly and efficiently.
