WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2017 IN GERMANY<br />
1 to 17 December 2017<br />
Following the Women’s EHF <strong>EURO</strong> 2016 in Sweden, the next major women’s<br />
handball tournament on the calendar is the Women’s World <strong>Champ</strong>ionship 2017<br />
in Germany. Following 1965 and 1997 it is the third time that Germany hosts the<br />
event. The final tournament will take place from 1 to 17 December 2017; the host<br />
cities are Trier, Bietigheim-Bissingen, Oldenburg and Leipzig for the preliminary<br />
round, Magdeburg and Leipzig for the Last 16 and the quarter-finals as well as<br />
Hamburg for semi-finals and the final.<br />
Apart from organisers Germany, defending champions Norway are also<br />
directly qualified. Furthermore, the three best ranked teams at the Women’s EHF<br />
<strong>EURO</strong> 2016 in Sweden earn a direct place at the World <strong>Champ</strong>ionship 2017.<br />
The remaining eleven teams from the Women’s EHF <strong>EURO</strong> 2016 will play the<br />
play-offs in June next year at which they will be joined by seven teams that have<br />
made it to the play-offs through the first qualification phase. For more info also<br />

WOMEN’S EHF <strong>EURO</strong> 2018 IN FRANCE<br />
30 November to 16 December 2018<br />
For the first time in the history of EHF <strong>EURO</strong> events for both men and women,<br />
the European Handball Federation’s flagship national team event comes to France.<br />
The Women’s EHF <strong>EURO</strong> 2018 will take place from 30 November to 16 December<br />
2018. Host cities are Brest, Montbéliard, Nancy, Nantes and Paris, with the French<br />
capital already confirmed for the final weekend.<br />
Organisers France are the only team already qualified, the remaining 15<br />
will be confirmed through qualification. Depending on the number of entries<br />
received for the qualification, a first phase may be played in the summer of 2017.<br />
The qualification draw will take place in April 2017. The first rounds of the main<br />
qualification phase will be played in the autumn of 2017.<br />
