Railyard A gathering place for locals and tourists! Stop by for some fresh produce from the Farmers Market. Catch a movie, see some art or live performances and grab some great food. 1. 2nd Street - A local brewery with two locations serving an array of beer and comfort pub food! A great spot to catch up with friends or see some live music. 2. Farmers Market - Santa Fe’s Farmer’s Market was named “Top Ten Farmers’ Markets”by Sunset Magazine, and it can’t be missed. It’s a great place to run into friends, stroll the Railyard and pick up locally grown goods! 3. La Choza - A New Mexican restaurant serving delicious traditional food and some of the best margaritas in town! Get the Silver Coin, and order your meal “Christmas style”. Plaza <strong>The</strong> main plaza is the heart of downtown Santa Fe, has has been for 400 years! 4. Todos Santos - A tiny chocolate and confections store that is tucked away in the historic Sena Plaza. <strong>The</strong>y carry handmade truffles, toffee and have a wonderful eclectic selection of confections. 5. Santa Maria Provisions - “Eclectic provisions for a welllived life” and this store is just that! You’ll find something for yourself, your Mom, your friend, neighbor. It’s a go to spot for finding the perfect gift. 6. Rainbow Man - <strong>The</strong> Rainbow Man is the leading store in authentic Native American and Hispanic arts and crafts since 1945! <strong>The</strong>y carry antique and contemporary items. 7. Design Warehouse - <strong>The</strong> place to stop in for artfully designed home accessories or even furniture! 8. Doodlets - <strong>The</strong> most whimsical shop in Santa Fe, it’s been open since 1955 and is filled to the brim with little treasures. It’s a great stop for a one of a kind souvenir. 9. Seret & Sons - A one-of-a-kind experience for unique collections of central and south Asian imports and antique Tibetan furnishings. It’s a great place to get lost in! 10. Kakawa Chocolate House - Famous in Santa Fe for their, authentic and historic drinking chocolates elixirs. It’s a must stop especially on a chilly afternoon! 11. Cross of the Martyrs - Don’t want to leave the buzz of downtown Santa Fe but still want to do a little “hike” - check out Cross of the Martyrs, it’s a few flights of rock stairs to the top but it gives a beautiful view of downtown Santa Fe. 12. Monroe Gallery - A gallery that specializes in black and white photography. <strong>The</strong>ir exhibits change often and usually have a huge emphasis on humanist/photojournalist imagery. Canyon Rd Canyon Road is an art district in Santa Fe with over a hundred art galleries and studios. It’s great to spend an afternoon strolling in and out of galleries to get a feel for the Native American art and antiquities, historical and contemporary Latino art, and our own Southwestern regional art. Beals & Co. - A gallery on Canyon Rd. has new shows/ exhibits up frequently. It sits across from the Tea House and is always fun to include in your Canyon Rd. walkabout. Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi - Located right up the street from the main plaza downtown, it’s probably the most iconic photo opportunity in the city! Catch it at sunset and it will really show off that wow factor! Big Tesuque Hike/Campground - A great hike or walk-in camping spot only about 30 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. It gives you a great tastes of the Santa Fe National Forest! Aspen Vista Hike - Perfect if you are visiting or hiking in the Autumn season, but wonderful anytime of year. This spot is loaded with Aspen trees and if you catch it at the right time, when they are all yellow, it’s a golden hour you can’t resist! Meow Wolf - An art collective that was started in Santa Fe in 2008, they’ve gone on to open their first permanent exhibition, <strong>The</strong> House of Eternal Return, on Rufina Circle. It’s the top attraction in Santa Fe right now and you can’t miss it! Jackalope - Home decor with a unique and Southwestern flare! Counter Culture - A hip, (cash-only) spot that has great coffee/tea, soups/sandwiches and a great patio for working on your computer or catching up with friends! Betterday - A great local coffee spot with professional baristas and great food! La Lecheria - A local ice cream shop that prides itself on its selection of creative seasonal flavors. 29
