Discussion
Questions
This time ask the group to divide into
smaller groups with members from the
same church in a group together. For
example, if you have a pastor there with a
staff member and a lay leader, make sure
the three of them are in a group together. If
there are people who came by themselves,
ask them to jump in with a church that
is in a similar life-stage as they are. For
example, if you have a church planter
there by himself, ask him to get in a group
with another new church. Or, if you have
a deacon from an established church in
attendance, make sure he is in a group with
another church that has been around for a
good while. Prompt the groups to discuss
the following questions:
[1] What evidence would you observe in a
church defined by Gospel Saturation?
What would the church look like? What
would you hear them talk about? What
types of Apps might they prioritize?
[2] Which of the four priorities outlined in
chapter 1 do you find the most difficult
to accomplish in the life of your current
church? Why?
[3] What might make it difficult to implement
these changes in the current life-stage
of your church?
Group
Debrief
Once the groups have finished their
discussion, call the group back together
and give them time to share as a large
group. Ask for people to share briefly and
succinctly the reflections that stood out to
them during their group’s discussion. Listen
for common themes and make sure to note
these to the group. You might even find it
helpful to keep a running list of the main
ideas on large Post-It notes to hang up
around your meeting room.
