The Spark
Drone manufacturer DJI has released
a new, small form-factor drone,
called the DJI Spark. A pilot can use
hand gesture controls monitored by
the drone itself to fly the unit. Other
gestures allow the pilot to control
a steady range from the pilot, and
the drone will actively track the user
even in motion. Waving at the drone
commands it to return to the user,
and land in the user’s out-stretched
palm.
As we embrace this new technology,
we take a look at some spectacular
drone photography produced on
our continent. This publication looks
forward to showcasing much more
footage in the coming years, as
licensing regulations of in various
countries get underway.
