a former undertaker’s
building into an
“artists’ incubator”.

includes the creation
of three 3,500 sq.
metre underground
levels; 2,200 sq.
metres of glass
roofing; 38,000 sq.
metres of floor space,
requiring 15,000 cu.
metres of concrete
and 700 tonnes
of metal structure.

in both the private and the public housing
sectors. the largest of these included: in
the Greater Paris area, the Les Bergeries
neighbourhood programmes at Draveil-
Vigneux (500 dwellings in 199 buildings),
512 rental housing units at Pont-de-
Pierre and 635 housing units at Parc des
Courtillières, Pantin; in Marseilles, the Cœur
Saint-Charles project for Kaufman & Broad.
In Poland, activity was brisk in the private
residential sector, with among others a major
project in progress in the Potok Sluzewiecki
valley, comprising four 15 and 11-floor
buildings, and a €30.4 million contract
for the Melody Park complex in Warsaw.
In Belgium, CFE is building the up-market
programmes on Place Brugmann in Brussels
and the Finis terrae programme at Knokkele-Zoute.
Public facilities
Major infrastructure programmes initiated
by public authorities in France, many of them
in the form of PPP contracts, continued
to support activity levels and generated new
orders. VINCI Construction France was again
a highly active player in all market segments,
including school building and renovation
(with handover of the Collège Villemandeur
middle school built under a PPP contract
in the Loiret department and reconstruction
to HEQ ® standards of the Collège Anne
Frank in roubaix, etc.); hospitals and health
care facilities (including the d’Estaing
Hospital at Clermont-Ferrand, in central
France, the hospital at Sarreguemines
in eastern France, the La Côte Fleurie
Hospital at Criqueboeuf in northern
France, several retirement homes built
