Chen-Yen and Hung-Ming’s love of tea inspired
them to add tea-related items to their collection.
Their ethos is perfectly encapsulated by the Afteroom collection for
MENU—a series comprising furniture, such as benches and tables,
and accessories that include coat hangers and teddy bears. “We have
so much in common in terms of vision and value,” Hung-Ming says
of working so closely with MENU. We naturally have the same way of
seeing things and share the same values.”
“The whole collection began with the first chair that we made for
MENU—the three-legged chair. We’re big fans of Bauhaus and early
Modernism icons, so we took a lot of ideologues and form language
from those movements as our inspiration,” says Hung-Ming. “In a
way, we tried to create minimal sculptures that serve as furniture for
everyday life.”
