boards in Sidney Nolan illustrated dust jacket (tiny chip to head<br />
of spine, light foxing, but quite scarce in this condition), the image<br />
also reproduced as a colour frontispiece. The Nolan illustration is a<br />
haunting chalk drawing of a figure’s head. The first book by Australian<br />
literary figure Max Harris, the first dust jacket illustrated by Sidney<br />
Nolan. A wartime publication scarce in good condition, published in an<br />
edition of 1500 copies (COWLEY, Des, A checklist of Reed & Harris<br />
Publications, in The La Trobe Journal No 64, Spring 1999, p. 48).<br />
