autobiography by Irena Sibley spans her life from her childhood in<br />
war-torn Europe in the 1940’s, to migration and a life in a thriving<br />
Australian arts community through the dynamic period of the 1960’s<br />
to today. Married to Andrew Sibley and closely associated with the<br />
lives and careers of Australia’s most prominent figures in the art world,<br />

lettered buckram portfolio backed in kangaroo, containing ten etchings<br />
printed directly from Shirlow’s plates, section of letterpress with essay<br />
by Robert C. Littlewood, photograph frontispiece. The portfolio is<br />
created by master Brisbane binder Fred Pohlmann in the style of John<br />
Shirlow’s 1904 folio Five Etchings. Each etching titled in pencil and<br />
bearing facsimile signature stamp. Published to contribute Shirlow’s<br />
contribution to Scotch College, Melbourne, where he served as <strong>Art</strong><br />
Master from 1927 until 1936. The etchings consist of eight views of<br />
Melbourne, one of Sydney Harbour, and one of Hobart. Limited to<br />
100 copies signed by the publisher.<br />
