Dear L.L.B.C. Members:
The Community Share Food Bank, which services over 150 families
each week, wishes to thank the Leaside Bowling Club members who
donated over 150 food items over the summer. It means a lot to the
many families who use this Food Bank to know that there are groups,
such as yours, who give back to their community.
This past year has seen a significant increase in the number of clients
we are serving. Some are new to Canada; others just need a hand up.
We are happy to welcome them all but couldn’t do so without the support
of people like you.
In early October, the Club will invite all members attending a Sunshine
Day to bring in a food item for the Food Bank in place of a
loonie. A special treat will be supplied. Notice outlining the date and
items most needed will be sent out shortly.
Thank you again for your generosity of spirit as we strive to help
those less fortunate than ourselves within our community.
Sincerely,
Dorothy Boothroyd
On behalf of the Board of Directors
and
Diane Gore, Volunteer Co-ordinator for Community Share Food Bank
