LEGISLATIVE UPDATES<br />
Together with other members of the Joint Congressional Oversight<br />
Committee, legisla<strong>to</strong>rs heard the implementation of the National<br />
Health Insurance Act of 2013 (Republic Act No. 10606). The Oversight<br />
Committee reviewed the current performance and accomplishments<br />
of PhilHealth in its implementation of the law. Sena<strong>to</strong>r Nancy<br />
Binay and Sena<strong>to</strong>r Risa Hontiveros (inset) represented the Senate in the<br />
inquiry.<br />
The Bicameral Conference Committee approves Senate Bill No. 1277<br />
and House Bill No. 5225, or the Internet Access in Public Places Act,<br />
which provides for the implementation of free Wi-Fi hot spots at public<br />
areas including government offices, public schools, universities, hospitals,<br />
public parks, airports and transit terminals.<br />
