I’ve always had an affinity for the sea because I grew up<br />
next to one. But as I got older, I do find beauty and best<br />
of all, solace in the green landscapes of Mother Nature.<br />
There is something other worldly about the greenery that<br />
makes me think of all the beings that have passed through<br />
it before me. Plus it helps that Malaysia’s landscape is filled<br />
with lush hills, serene lakes and tall waterfalls for us to<br />
enjoy.<br />
So for this issue, we explored resorts and retreats that<br />
are close to Mother Nature where visitors can live among<br />
its beauty and wonder. The Nature Nests of Malaysia<br />
feature accommodations next to hot springs and palm oil<br />
plantations to name a few for nature lovers all around.<br />
Foodies can get to the know the diverse Chinese<br />
cuisine of Penang from Hokkien to Hakka feasts. Look<br />
out for the eateries cooking up noodles, pastries and the<br />
quintessential Malaysian breakfast of toast and kaya spread<br />
on our Northerner’s Guide to Penang Soul Food article.<br />
