Museum of City History
The museum in the late baroque residence of the
artist and benefactor Johann Christian Wentzinger
(1710 - 1797) displays treasures from 900
years of city history. Plans and documents, altar
equipment and weapons, coins and guild signs
tell the story of how traders and artisans, monks
and nuns, scholars, citizens, and soldiers all once
lived in Freiburg

Museum Nature and People
With its fascinating natural history and ethnological
collections, this museum is devoted to
revealing the diversity and uniqueness of natural
and cultural environments. A journey of discovery
through time and stone addresses topics related to
Earth‘s history, the origins of life, and the natural

Carnival Museum Freiburg
The Carnival Museum Freiburg has showcased the
“Narren”, or “Fools” of the Breisgau carnival clubs
since 1979. Almost all of the carnival clubs in
Freiburg are represented in the museum; the exhibits,
each of which was lovingly and creatively
arranged by the clubs themselves, bring visitors
face-to-face with the colorful, original costumes
and carved wooden masks.
