Automobili Lamborghini has unleashed the Huracán Performante
Lamborghini
Automobili Lamborghini have recently
unleashed the Huracán Performante
onto the world; combining lightweight
technologies, active aerodynamics
with Aero Vectoring, a new chassis
set-up, all-wheel drive, and further
improved engine performance.
The Huracán Performante adopts
Aerodynamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA);
ALA is also the Italian word for Wing.
This patented active aerodynamic system
has both high-downforce and low
drag variations. The front splitter is features
a carbon forged frame with active
flaps on the top exterior surface. In the
rear of the Performante, four ducts are
installed below the rear bonnet. The two
central ducts are always open to allow
under-hood ventilation and exhaust
cooling, while two external ducts are
connected to the inner channels of
the rear wing. The air flowing through
the rear wing channels is controlled by
two electro-actuated flaps. The entire
system is 80% lighter than a traditional
hydraulic systems.
The enhanced naturally-aspirated
Huracán engine is the most powerful
V10 produced to-date by Lamborghini
– with an output of 640bhp at 8,000rpm
and 600Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.
The car’s powerful engine produces
an optimized torque curve, with more
than 70% of torque already available at
1,000 rpm. Reflecting this, Lamborghini’s
seven-speed dual clutch transmission
has also been optimised to match the
performance increase.
