A VOICE FOR THE
VOICELESS
Over SATURDAY 4 and SUNDAY 5
NOVEMBER Lansdowne hosts a weekend
with BARONESS CAROLINE COX. She is
well known for her humanitarian work
which takes her into conflict zones around
the world, and also her Parliamentary
work.
On Saturday 4 November 9.30 – 12 noon,
she will be giving an illustrated talk on her
humanitarian work. It is necessary to
register for this FREE event and you can do
so at lansdownechurch.uk/voice or on the
sign-up sheets in the foyer. We anticipate
that this will be a well attended event so
please make sure that you’ve registered by
Sunday 29 October at the latest!
Baroness Cox will speak at our 9.15 and
11.15 services on Sunday 5 November. Our
evening service at 6.30 will be different in
style when Baroness Cox will be joined by
Showell-Rogers all of whom either have
been or are involved in humanitarian and
aid relief work.
This promises to be a significant and
unique weekend!
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOX APPEAL
Sunday October 29 th – Sunday November 12 th 2017
Since 1990, more than 146 million children in over 150 countries
have experienced God's love through the power of simple shoebox
gifts from Operation Christmas Child. The mission of Operation
Christmas Child is to show God’s love in a tangible way to needy
children around the world, and together with the local church
worldwide, to share the good news of Jesus Christ. A small
shoebox can have a big impact, what goes into the box is fun, but
what comes out of it is eternal.
This year we are selling ‘Go Boxes’ for 40p each – flat, pre-printed boxes which don’t
need wrapping – available from the Welcome desk. If you prefer, wrap an empty medium
sized shoebox.
Leaflets are available, with all you need to know, plus ideas for filling your box.
Bring it back to church by Sunday 12 th November.
