IN MEMORY OF MICHAL LICHTEN
frequent visitors to Hebrew University, Vibeke Lichten
and Joel assouline have contributed to pioneering
cancer research at the university. they have also helped
to promote early childhood education and poverty
intervention in israel.
Partners in a2 investment Group (a2lG), a real estate
development company, the couple first met in switzerland
while Joel was earning his MBa at the University of
Lausanne. their perspective is international and their love
for israel, longstanding.
Vibeke Lichten is a licensed architect and a principal
of atelier Vibeke Lichten, an architecture and design
firm that specializes in inner city revitalization. she
serves on the board of the Beverly Willis architecture
foundation. Born in denmark, Vibeke and her family
moved to israel, where she completed her service
in the air force before studying furniture design and
interior architecture abroad. she has taught architecture
at educational institutes in the United states and has
been widely published.
Joel assouline, a licensed real estate broker, leads
PROFESSOR RONNIE FRIEDMAN, VIBEKE LICHTEN and JOEL ASSOULINE
finance and management at a2iG. He is an alumnus
of the advanced real estate Management Program
at Harvard’s Graduate school of design. raised in
casablanca, Morocco, Joel later moved to france with his
family. a staunch supporter of israel, he first visited the
country after the yom Kippur War.

Former President of Israel, Shimon Peres,
was awarded the 2015 Solomon Bublick
Prize on May 31st. A longtime friend of
The Hebrew University and an Honorary
Doctorate recipient, Israel’s ninth President
delivered a public address during the
university’s 78th annual convocation and
Board of Governors.
