Kendall Claeys was eased<br />
into a real-life farming experience<br />
when he started<br />
high school.<br />
While he had always<br />
enjoyed helping with chores on his<br />
parents’ grain and cattle farm near<br />
Delmar, he had never had the ultimate<br />
responsibility for any of it until his<br />
father, Curtis, gave him 25 acres of corn<br />
to manage.<br />
“That blossomed into something for<br />
me, even though it was small-time,”<br />
Kendall said. “It was a great learning<br />
experience. Some kids have never gone<br />
through those types of processes to<br />
learn how to survive.”<br />
