SPECIAL EVENTS<br />

• FALL VEGETABLE GARDENING - Monday, <strong>October</strong> 2 nd , 6:30 PM, Meeting<br />

Room. Fort Bend County Master Gardener Ralph Fuller will provide an<br />

overview of fall vegetable gardening. Fuller will talk about recommended<br />

vegetable varieties for this area and how to build and maintain a garden.<br />

• SURVIVING AN ACTIVE SHOOTER - Monday, <strong>October</strong> 9 th , 5:45-7:45 PM,<br />

Meeting Room. <strong>Fulshear</strong> Police Chief Kenny Seymour will share detailed<br />

information for surviving an active-shooter situation.<br />

• FULSHEAR BOOK CLUB - Monday, <strong>October</strong> 16 th , 12 Noon, in Meeting<br />

Room. The book to be discussed is the <strong>2017</strong> “Gulf Coast Reads” selection<br />

News of the World, written by Paulette Jile.<br />

• FULSHEAR NIGHT READERS GUILD - Monday, <strong>October</strong> 23 rd , 6:30 PM,<br />

Meeting Room. The book to be discussed is Dead Wake, written by Erik<br />

Larson.<br />

YOUNG ADULT PROGRAMS (FOR TEENS IN GRADES 9-12)<br />

• DAY OF THE DEAD/DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS - Monday, <strong>October</strong> 30 th , 5 PM,<br />

Meeting Room. Teens in grades 9-12 will have fun creating decorations for<br />

Día de los Muertos, a traditional Mexican holiday that celebrates life and<br />

honors the memory of departed loved ones. Supplies for this program<br />

were made possible by the generous support of the Friends of the Bob<br />

Lutts <strong>Fulshear</strong>/Simonton Branch Library.<br />

WEEKLY CHILDREN’S PROGRAM<br />

• Toddler Time - Tuesdays at 10:15 AM, offers caregiver/child activities,<br />

stories and songs for older babies, from 12 to 36 months of age.<br />

• Story Time - Wednesdays at 10:15 AM, 3 to 6 years of age, presents<br />

stories, movies and participate in age-appropriate craft activities.<br />

• After-School Breaks - 2 nd Thursday at 4:30 PM. Crafts, movies, stories for<br />

school-aged children in grades 1 through 5. The program on <strong>October</strong> 12 th<br />

will be “Slime Time.”<br />
