SPECIAL EVENTS
• FALL VEGETABLE GARDENING - Monday, October 2 nd , 6:30 PM, Meeting
Room. Fort Bend County Master Gardener Ralph Fuller will provide an
overview of fall vegetable gardening. Fuller will talk about recommended
vegetable varieties for this area and how to build and maintain a garden.
• SURVIVING AN ACTIVE SHOOTER - Monday, October 9 th , 5:45-7:45 PM,
Meeting Room. Fulshear Police Chief Kenny Seymour will share detailed
information for surviving an active-shooter situation.
• FULSHEAR BOOK CLUB - Monday, October 16 th , 12 Noon, in Meeting
Room. The book to be discussed is the 2017 “Gulf Coast Reads” selection
News of the World, written by Paulette Jile.
• FULSHEAR NIGHT READERS GUILD - Monday, October 23 rd , 6:30 PM,
Meeting Room. The book to be discussed is Dead Wake, written by Erik
Larson.
YOUNG ADULT PROGRAMS (FOR TEENS IN GRADES 9-12)
• DAY OF THE DEAD/DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS - Monday, October 30 th , 5 PM,
Meeting Room. Teens in grades 9-12 will have fun creating decorations for
Día de los Muertos, a traditional Mexican holiday that celebrates life and
honors the memory of departed loved ones. Supplies for this program
were made possible by the generous support of the Friends of the Bob
Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library.
WEEKLY CHILDREN’S PROGRAM
• Toddler Time - Tuesdays at 10:15 AM, offers caregiver/child activities,
stories and songs for older babies, from 12 to 36 months of age.
• Story Time - Wednesdays at 10:15 AM, 3 to 6 years of age, presents
stories, movies and participate in age-appropriate craft activities.
• After-School Breaks - 2 nd Thursday at 4:30 PM. Crafts, movies, stories for
school-aged children in grades 1 through 5. The program on October 12 th
will be “Slime Time.”
