The Australian Ceramics Association's Biennial Exhibition 2014 Manly Art Gallery & Museum 28 March - 4 May 2014 the course of objects; the fine lines of inquiry Curator: Susan Ostling CALL FOR PROPOSALS The i ntent of this exhi bi t i on the course of objects: the fine lines of inquiry is to map and take the pulse of recent cerami c work that pursues particul ar lines of inquiry or e xplores o r embodies pertinent i deas . Working in the spirit of unraveling the associations between things , or discovering constellations in things , I will look for possible transient affinities and correspondences when making selections for the exhibition . Works will be chosen that trigger or extend connections or references, or that suggest repetitions, echoes, resemblances, distilled moments, or the thick realm of metaphor . I am not intending to establish an overall exhibition theme; rather to elucidate methodologies of p r actice and inquiry. Practitioners (potters, sculptors, ceramicists) are invited to submit proposals for the exhibition the course of objects; the fine lines of inquiry. Please send an outline of your proposal/rationale (100-150 words), a disc with 3- 5 images of related work and a current I-page CV. Applications close: 15 April 2013 Artists notified: 31 May 2013 Exhibition dates: 28 March - 4 May 2014 Please post proposal packages to: Susan Ostling The Australian Ceramics Association, PO Box 274 Waverley NSW 2024 Artists whose work is selected will receive a $100 participants fee. Exhibitors must be financial members of The Australian Ceramics Association.
