Christmas Fayre in the car park of the Fox and<br />
Hounds before the Christmas Lights Switch On.<br />
The winning designs from Houston Primary, and<br />
St Fillan’s Primary pupils for the new Houston<br />
Christmas Lights will be on display on both the<br />
Fox and Hounds and the Houston Inn, so please<br />
come along that night and celebrate the true<br />
spirit of Christmas.<br />
2nd Lochwinnoch Golf Club Tea Dance<br />

A Christmas Concert by the B Flats<br />

A mixture of traditional and less well known<br />
Christmas songs with some original arrangements<br />
by the founder of the group, Robin Barr. Come<br />
along and join in the beginning of Christmas<br />
festivities hosted by Houston and Killellan Kirk<br />
Scottish Country Dancers. Donations will be<br />
gratefully accepted which will be given to our<br />

Meet at the Village Hall at 5.30pm and join a<br />
candlelight procession to the Millennium Garden<br />
where our group of village brass players – the<br />
Brookfield Brass Necks – will entertain us with<br />
some Christmas music prior to the switch-on of<br />
the tree lights. Then it’s back to the Hall for some<br />
refreshments and a viewing of ‘The Snowman &<br />
the Snowdog’ on a giant screen!<br />
Advent Carol Service<br />

Christmas with this lovely Service on the theme of<br />

Christingle Service<br />
Freeland Church, Main Street, Bridge of<br />
Weir, 4pm to 6pm<br />
Everyone is welcome, young and old, to come<br />
along and make a Christingle, afterwards a short<br />
candlelit service with the Christingles. After this,<br />
we will be back in the hall for food and a chat. Lots<br />
of different people come along and it’s a great way<br />
to meet people. Babies and toddlers welcome.<br />
Adults are welcome to come along without a child<br />
but not the other way round as we don’t want to<br />

Bishopton Community Centre, Gledstane<br />
Road, Bishopton, 6.15pm<br />
The village Christmas tree lights will be switched<br />
on after a carol service that starts at 6.15<br />
pm. There is an open invitation to the local<br />
community to join in too. Please note ther car<br />
park will be closed to allow the ceremony to take<br />
place. It is recommended that motorists should<br />
leave their cars at home and walk to the Centre.<br />
It is likely to be cold and those attending should<br />
wrap up appropriately.This is a free event. Light<br />
refreshments will be available.<br />
Festival Christmas Bingo Night<br />

Carrick Nights<br />

All concerts will take place in the Carrick Centre, Main Street, Houston<br />
commencing at 8.00pm.<br />
Next Concert in Series - Sat. 4th <strong>November</strong> <strong>2017</strong> - Vocalise<br />
Vocalise enjoy performing a wide variety of music from Gershwin to Mozart, from<br />
Argentine tangos to Flanders and Swan.<br />
Daniella Hathaway (Soprano) is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She came to the U K to<br />
study at the Royal Academy of Music in London.<br />
Mark Hathaway (Baritone) spent the early years of his career as a singer and actor,<br />
before becoming an opera director.<br />
Maria Holmes (Cello) was born in the Czech Republic and was a member of the Scottish<br />
Opera Orchestra for many years.<br />
Steven Adam (Piano) was born in Stirling and studied cello at the RSAMD and the Royal<br />
Northern College of Music. He worked as a pianist and arranger for a season in Spain<br />
before freelancing with Orchestras in London and Birmingham.<br />
Remaining Concerts in Series<br />
Friday 2nd February 2018 - Alison McNeill & Sacha Savaloni<br />
Alison (soprano) and Sacha (guitar) perform a variety of Spanish, Latin American,<br />
French, Italian, Contemporary and Scots Song repertoire. They have performed recitals<br />
in Spain and throughout Scotland at various prestigious events and are passionate<br />
about expanding and enriching the repertoire for voice and guitar and transcribe a lot<br />
of music for their performances.<br />
** Due to circumstances out with our control the Barochan Quartet cannot fulfi l this date and are<br />
replaced by the Kentigern Quartet.<br />
Friday 2nd April 2018 - Kentigern Quartet + Maria Wilson and Accompanist<br />
Violinists Barbara Downie and Feargus Hetherington, violist Nicola Boag and cellist<br />
Jessica Kerr bring their collective experience in chamber music, working at home and<br />
internationally with leading British Orchestras and as educators to this ensemble. Their<br />
repertoire includes works by Beethoven, Haydn, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Britten<br />
and Ravel. Recent performances include Glasgow cathedral, St Mary’s Cathedral,<br />
the BBC Club at City Halls, Renfi eld St Stephen’s, and the Drake Chamber Series in<br />
Glasgow.<br />
Maria Wilson (soprano) runs Starlight Youth Music Theatre group in Paisley. Tonight is<br />
her night to perform, come along and enjoy a varied selection of music.<br />
Ticket Prices (single concert): Adults £12, Children/Student £5.<br />
Option to have a meal in our Café at 6.30pm prior to the concerts, but early booking<br />
recommended as space is limited. (2 courses £15 – BYOB)<br />

Come and fi nd out what these three have in common! More than you think! Find<br />
out about Britain’s shady past in the Middle East and the repercussions which<br />
have resulted in so much unrest today, 100 years on.<br />
4 of us in the OLIVE TREE team have just returned from BETHLEHEM, Hebron<br />
and Jerusalem – full of stories and memories BUT also beautiful crafts from<br />
the HOLY LAND. We have given and helped, bought and brought so do come<br />
early at 6.30pm and browse.......Hebron ceramics,<br />
Bethlehem olive wood, Jerusalem jewellery, Larche<br />
felts, Jericho dates and Taybeh olive oil, etc are all<br />
on sale and newly arrived! Help us to help others!<br />

Centre, Erskine, Santa will lead the procession<br />
from Mains Drive Shops to Bridgewater Shopping<br />
Centre at 6:45p.m. Dress up in your Christmas<br />
lights, Tinsel and Bells.<br />
Festivities (Santa, Music, Children’s Rides,<br />
Tombola) at Bridgewater Shopping Centre from<br />
6:45pm to 7:45pm. Lights switch on at 7:15pm.<br />
