Listening to songs and stories of w ar
Everyone hoping there would be no more
After “Hatikva” off to sleep we went
Sadness in our hearts, our emotions well spent.
Sunday morning had arrived the last of hiking days
Our arrival at the K in n e re t would happen
this 3rd day of May
The spirit rose as our goal became much nearer
The songs of the groups became much clearer.
The race was on throughout N a c h a l A m u d
W ith chants being heard of “Move, Move, Move!”
Continuously the river we had to cross
It would have been nice if those rocks were not “lost!”
As we came to the last stretch, the K in n e re t in sight
We all wanted to finish soon before night
We arrived at T a m a r B each w ith pictures and singing
A ll of a sudden we were hugging and clinging.
A fter the water was poured into the sea
Removing hats and commandos was clear as can be
Happy birthday Israel, number 39
The party in T ib e ria s was sure m ighty fine!
We got to sleep in, 8 o’clock what a treat
Soon at the beach we were all to meet
Drinking and dancing while out in the sun
We sure deserved relaxation and fun.
To the medics, Shomrim, tour-guides, and madrichim
we owe a big cheer
And especially E ran and Micha who’s hard work
was very clear
42 miles or 66 “k”’s our hike S E A to SE A
was unbelievably done in only 3 days!
