1991-1992 Rothberg Yearbook

Dear students,
During the last m onth, I’ve been thinking, “w hat am I
going to write in the yearbook?” W hat do I w ant you
to rem em ber before leaving Israel? Before my eyes, I
see all the w onderful experiences we had together. I
think about the great impression you have m ade here
with w hole-hearted participation and cooperation in
all of the OSA activities. Also, I think about the next
step.
I m ust admit that I have very high expectations for
you. You are going back to your hom es, to your
cam puses, to your com m unities and I assum e you will
have a lot of things to do: not only finishing your
academic studies but also m aking your ow n individual
plans for the future. How ever, sooner or later, the
m em ories will surface and you will start missing Israel.
It could happen the very first day that you arrive at your
hom e or after weeks, months, or even years later. Then,
all the experiences you had in Israel, your studies, your
stay in Jerusalem , your tiyulim and your adventures will
stand at your side w hen you wish to support Israel. Not
only by showing your sym pathy to Israel and its society,
but also by encouraging other students to come to Israel
as you did, to study with us, and to have the same
special “one year” experience. For. us, you are
ambassadors (shelihim).
1 personally w ould be very happy to see you have
visits in Israel w hen you finish your obligations back
home. You are welcom e as visitors and also as olim
chadasim.
