very special guest. North Carolina
Poet Laureate, Shelby Stephenson,
who, as The News & Observer
stated “turns North Carolina
into poetry”, will be reading at
Carols. He describes his work as,
“What I do, what I’ve always done,
is tinged with this culture here.
Point of view is what fascinates
me. What’s beautiful is that everybody’s
from somewhere, whether
Brooklyn or San Antonio or Benson,
North Carolina. I hope people
hear music in my work.” A community
regional history and touches the
heart of Christmas. As always, this
